The Enterprise District, Inc. (a local 501c3 non-profit) is excited to announce that E Street Alley: Phase II ("Downtown Beautification") is coming this Summer, thanks to a $5,000 Love Your Block Grant from the City of San Bernardino, Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation, and its community partners. This funding will help us purchase paint and materials for new murals and clean-up efforts, bringing more beauty to Downtown San Bernardino.
We encourage artists to design interactive murals that creatively promote revitalization, uniquely portray San Bernardino’s rich history and culture, and inspire the next generation.

E Street Alley Murals is a dynamic art initiative spearheaded by The Historic Enterprise Building team in downtown San Bernardino.
Through Phase 1, a blighted alley was transformed into a colorful breezeway featuring six large murals, voluntarily painted by local artists and chosen by over 1,300 San Bernardino residents.
We are now looking ahead to Phase 2, which aims to bring even more interactive "selfie" murals and new decorative lighting to the alley.
This project highlights a strong partnership between local artists and businesses, continually enhancing our community, inspiring creativity, and boosting local tourism.

"Selfie murals," also known as interactive murals, are works of public art specifically designed for people to pose with and take photographs, especially selfies.
They often incorporate elements that allow the viewer to become part of the artwork, such as painted wings, props like balloons or megaphones, or scenes where people can interact with characters or objects.
The goal is to create a fun, shareable experience and a memorable photo opportunity.
